Memorable
Golden Days (Part II) Day
one 20th
May, 4.00 p.m, Mr.Raghavan’s residence Bhakthi
and Karma (duties) In this sathsangam Gurujiamma described how bhakthi and karma are inter related
Radhekrishna!!!!
For Bagawan Krishna all the human beings are His children. He doesn’t
differentiate them. For ordinary people their own children are special
and they don’t care for other’s children. Every human being
differentiates between a male and a female. But in reality every
jeevaathama is female and Bagawan Krishna is the only Purushotthaman.
It’s a hard fact that though a person becomes old his desires are
endless; even at this age his mind doesn’t get controlled and sticks
to the worldly things. But
this was not the case with Sukha Brahma Maharishi. Though he was very
young his mind was neutral. Once,
in Srirangam there lived a farmer named Periyanna who did all his duties
(karma) with full sincerity and devotion. It is not necessary that if
you do bhakthi you should sacrifice your duties. Infact only when you do
bhakthi you can perform all your duties perfectly. In the same way
Periyaanna used to do bhakthi along with all his duties. In
the same place (Srirangam) there lived a king. He had a query in his
mind that how far is Bagawan from us? To get an answer to his query he
called upon all the pandits and scholars of his town. But there is a
great difference between a bhaktha and a pandit. Pandits can answer upto
a certain level but cannot show the right path to attain Bagawan but a
bhaktha can show Bagawan Himself!!! All the pandits and
scholars searched for the answers but couldn’t get it! At that time
one of the pandits replied, “I don’t know the answer but I could
tell you from whom you could get the answer”. Using his authority the
king sent his servants to call Periyaanna to his court. But Periyanna
replied that he would come only after finishing his karmas (duties). These
are the great bhakthaas who are not afraid of anybody. They need not
fear anyone as Bagawan Krishna takes care of them. As the farmer entered
the court, by seeing his external appearance, the king under estimated
him. For this, Gurujiamma explained the mentality of an ordinary person.
Amma said, you people think that a person who is well dressed knows
everything and a person who is poorly dressed doesn’t know anything.
But in reality no one can guess the person’s knowledge by his
appearance. For our Indian environment dhoti is most suited. But you
people wear suit and tie troubling yourselves. Even if you feel an
itching sensation you won’t be able to do it because of this kind of
clothing. The
farmer answered, “Bagawan is so near that He is at a calling
distance!!!!” Gurujiamma said that Bagawan is not away from you. It is
up to you how far or near you have kept Him. The farmer proved this by
giving the example of Gajendra. No sooner did Gajendra scream
“Aadhimoolame” than Bagawan came to save him. The farmer didn’t
even give any opportunity to the king to ask any proof. The king
understood his mistake, realized his pride and he became aware that he
didn’t call Bagawan till date so he couldn’t know about Him!!! From
that day onwards he got involved in Bhagawadh Bhakthi. Finally
Gurujiamma said "My Krishnan would come running if uou call
Him!!!" Gurujiamma's
