       THE MEMORABLE GOLDEN DAYS

    DAY FOUR

14th DECEMBER 2004, Tuesday

Guruji Amma used to do sathsang whenever disciples used to come to see her. Some of the things she said to college boys were,

"Where is peace and happiness? It is inside you. You need not search for it externally. Bagwan is inside you. Chant continuously and realize Him.

In this world every type of love is conditional. When opinion clashes even a mother and the child quarrel. Pure love is unconditional. It can be only between a Bhaktha and Bagwan. Worldly love is just for sexual pleasure. Youngsters are entangled in infatuation problem.

The right way to study is to chant for 5 to 10 minutes, Bagwan Krishna’s name and start. Surrendering oneself to Bagwan Krishna and chanting His name continuously is the only way to find inner peace."

GURU MAHIMA EXPLAINED BY GURUJI AMMA

{5.30pm on 14TH DEC, 2004 at Mr.Venkatachalam’s Residence}

            In vaikuntam Bagawan is worried about the people on this earth who are always running for unwanted things due to which they are unable to experience real happiness. Bagawan out of His extreme mercy send His bhakthaas and nithyasurees from vaikuntam in the form of sathguru in this punya bhoomi. The way Bagawan is the form of mercy, also send His bhakthaas on the earth with the same mercy. The way sun or moon is not grown like a plant, but it rises of its own, the same way bhakthaas raise. They make us experience the mercy of Bagawan. Such are our great sathgurus.

To explain the Guru-sishya relationship, it can be blindly stated the relationship between Swami Ramanujar and Vaduganambi. Before knowing Swami Ramanujar as a sathguru it is also important to know Him as a sathsishyan. Swami Ramanujar, as a sathsishyan, travelled about 18 times to get a rahasyam(divine secret) from His sathaachaaryan [spiritual master]  Thirukoshtiyurnambi and only the 18th time He was told the secret. Why? Till the 17th time He said, “I Ramanuja” have come and His aachaaryan didn’t even wanted that I’ ness and the 18th time Swami Ramanujar said, “adiyen Ramanuja” have come. Hence He was told about that secret.

Swami Ramanujar, as a sathguru, was really the form of mercy. Once Swami Ramanujar asked His sishyas to search a needle from a dark room. Some of the sishyas began to think that how come one could search a needle from a dark room? Some of them started murmuring that if at all the needle is lost; it is not a precious thing. Guruji Amma beautifully stated the leela of sathguru over here. Guruji Amma said that an ordinary person can never know the work of a sathguru or His actions and hence one must have an unconditional blind faith on sathguru.

One among those sishyas had that unconditional blind faith, its none other than Embaar Govindhar. As soon as Swami Ramanujar asked to find the needle, the other sishyas started to think how could they find it from the dark room but Embaar Govindhar without having any such thoughts immediately went for searching that needle. What an unconditional blind faith on sathguru and His words!!! He went inside, the room was dark enough. He closed his eyes, did his aachaarya dhyanam (dhyanam of Swami Ramanujar), he could find a great brightness (brightness of aathmaa), immediately he found the needle and gave it to Swami Ramanujar. Thus Swami Ramanujar extolled the faith of Embaar Govindhar to other sishyas [disciples].

Once another incident occurred when Swami Ramanujar was deeply engrossed in the beauty of Perumaal during the Thiru Veedhi Ula (the idol of Bagawan which is fully decorated and taken through all the streets). Swami Ramanujar called out, “ Vaduga, come and see the beauty of Perumaal ”. Immediately Vaduganambi replied from inside, “ If I come over there to see your perumaal, the milk kept for my Perumaal(Swami Ramanujar) will spill down. According to Vaduganambi, Swami Ramanujar was everything to him. His only Bagawan was Swami Ramanujar.

Guruji Amma said that such are our great sathgurus and sathsishyas. Everyone should have such an unconditional blind faith on sathguru and His words.

GURUJI AMMA’S SATHSANGAM ON THE BEAUTY OF THIRUKKURUNGUDI PERUMAAL

{6.30pm on14th December 2004 at Mr.T.S.Venkateswaran’s Residence}

There had been many Aazhwaars in our Baharatha Bhoomi. Who are known as Aazhwaars? The one who has a very deep bhakthi for Bagawan. Till today we can see uthsavams (grand festival of Bagawan) held in many divine places. During these utsavams all of them experience the beauty of Bagawan and hence the word “uthsavam” itself develops a great happiness in the minds of everyone.

Once similar uthsavam took place in Thirukkurungudi (a divine place). All the people were very happy and in that nearby divine land there lived a family. The parents were asking their girl child to come for the uthsavam and she was repeatedly ignoring but at last as her parents were insisting her, she agreed. They went over there and saw the beautifully decorated Bagawan. The girl looked this beauty of Bagawan. She firstly looked the thirukamala paadangal (lotus feet). It is always said one should see and experience Bagawan from His feet to His head i.e. it is said experience Him “ paadaadhikesam”. The beautiful red lotus feet of Bagawan seemed beautiful, and then she looked upon the ornaments that He was wearing in His ankle. Then slowly moved her eyes towards the knee, looked His thighs, huge and strong one. All seemed to be very beautiful, then looked upon the peethaambaram that He was wearing, moved her eyes further, His stomach slightly big, thought that how beautiful this Bagawan is!!! Then looked upon His wide chest and strong shoulders, Bagawan is the only one who has such a strong and broad shoulders and wide chest. The Gopi’s used to swing on His strong shoulders and rest on His wide chest to experience the extreme peace and happiness.

She experienced Bagawan in such a manner that she lost herself in the world of His beauty. She was very attracted towards His strong and enlarged chest. Then her eyes were struck in His strong and long beautiful arms. Bagawan and His bhakthaas only have such long arms up to the knees. Why so? As they are the only one who lifts all the jeevaathmaas from this samsaarasaagaram and also to give all His bhakthaas a merciful hug. His palms were red and soft but at the same time the palm was also big enough, then she looked the neck, which was broad as well as long decorated with several beautiful ornaments, flower garlands… she had never experienced such an amazing beauty. After looking upon these beauties, the beauty that made her to forget herself and stun was the one which she just saw further. His beautiful red lips. Really she couldn’t believe her eyes!!!  The most beautiful among all His beauties. After looking at His beautiful lips she came to know that she had lost something and what she lost was her heart. His reddish soft lips had stolen her heart. She was deeply engrossed in this beauty for a long time as her eyes were not moving further, her eyes were not ready to come out of this miraculous beauty.

Somehow, after a long time she managed to move her eyes and looked at his sharp nose, long lotus like red eyes, His eyebrows which was bent beautifully like a bow, His broad forehead, the kasturi tilakam and His soft, silky hair; all the beauties attracted her but the beauty that made herself to lost was His red lips. Her parents were now forcing her to return home but now she was not able to. She replied that, “you brought me here, even after my denial several times, now I will stay here only”. But they somehow took her home and even after she reached home she was in the same hangover. The red beautiful lips remained in front of her eyes. Her parents couldn’t understand the problem. In the sleep, she repeatedly uttered only one word: “Thirukkurunggudi, Thirukkurunggudi” and the paasurams regarding the beauty of this Bagawan came from within.

Guruji Amma thus recited one of the paasuram, the most beautiful paasuram based on the beauty of Bagawan’s lips.

Guruji Amma thus made everyone engrossed in this beauty of Thirukkurunggudi Bagawan and increased the excitement even more.

GURUJI AMMA’S SATHSANG ON THE GREATNESS OF THE SUPREME POWER

{7.30pm on14th December 2004 at Mr.T.S.Ramachandran’s Residence}

Guruji Amma’s sathsang went on one after the other at different places. This great effort of Guruji Amma was to make every people aware of the true fact that doing bhakthi alone can help in attaining eternal happiness. Every sathsang was started with the “Radhekrishna” namasankeerthanam that went on for 10 minutes and then Guruji Amma started with the pravachanam.

Guruji Amma firstly expressed the importance of namasankeethanam. She asked everyone to do continuous chanting and stated that there is no need to perform any other thing. In this kaliyuga the simplest and the easiest way to attain happiness is namasankeerthanam. It doesn’t mean that being simplest its power is less in spite it’s the most powerful of all the other practices. Guruji Amma repeatedly stressed on the words that pride and I’ness is the reason for all the sorrows. In each and every thing people have I’ness. They say its my house, my money… but why this I’ness? Bagawan creates all the things and no one could ever be more superior to Him. We all His children, everything belongs to Him. So before performing any action i.e. before eating or drinking just remember and pray sincerely that oh! Krishna you made me to eat this food and drink this water. Every small thing that one performs should be wholeheartedly dedicated to Him and in return Bagawan accepts it wholeheartedly.

Now a day, scientists could develop many new things and hence they are just developers, only Bagawan does the work of creation. Scientists could just work ahead and carry out their process on those things that have been already in existence. Hence Bagawan is the greatest of all. He is the supreme power. Even then atheists are strong in their belief, that due to the efforts that one makes, he/she is obvious to achieve success, but the one who gives the capability to work, the one who helps in applying the intelligence in performing a particular work is none other Bagawan. For performing any activity hands are required, and He is its creator. How come if an atheist could work without hands. Bagawan gave him the hand to perform and henceforth he is performing. So everything belongs to Him and He is the only one who makes to perform us from within. Obviously there is no question of pride or I’ness.

Gurujiamma thus gave a beautiful description about the greatness of Bagawan and asked everyone to chant continuously to destroy the pride and I’ ness. In this kaliyuga namasankeerthanam is the only weapon to destroy all the enemies within every person.
